Overall plan and ideas are fine. But

It's ok. Overall plan and ideas are fine. But, it's out of date. It has Server 2008 install info, not Server 2012, also does not have SQL 2014 information. I wish I had looked more closely at the publish date, or the author would send us an update to people who have bought it recently.

A great book for SharePoint 2013

I have been following the authors for quite a while. All their books have helped me gain a lot of insight in the subject; which I have leveraged at my work for better software development for sure! I have started reading this e-book just to find what's in it and what's new with SharePoint 2013. But I could clearly see both the authors have laid out a clear path for developers to get where they needed to be. So finally I ended up building my own fully functional 2013 developer machine. I was very impressed on how the book covered varied topics paying attention to the details. I would totally recommend reading this book for those keen aspirers of SharePoint 2013

Great way to get into app development for the newbee!

With all the scattered information out there regarding various peaces of SharePoint and cloud technology, this book sorts things out in a structured manner. Ahhh...I understand now. The light bulb went off. It's a quick read and its funny in the sense that the author keeps you engaged as you read through the material regarding SharePoint 2013 and the setup up of the development environment. If you are new to SharePoint development and need a place to start this a great place to start. I learned a lot in a very short time, may thanks to the author!
