About the Author

David Haber, PhD , is an assistant professor in the Gerontology Department at Western Oregon University, Monmouth, Oregon. Prior to his current affiliation he worked at several institutes of higher education.

For a decade he was the John and Janice Fisher distinguished professor of wellness and gerontology at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. For the decade prior to that, Dr. Haber was a professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Before that he served as the director of the Center for Healthy Aging, at Creighton University’s multidisciplinary shopping mall–based geriatric center in Omaha, Nebraska.

His early academic and research career included positions at the University of the District of Columbia; the University of South Florida, Tampa; and the University of Southern California, where he also received his PhD in sociology from the Andrus Gerontology Center.

Dr. Haber is a fellow in the Gerontological Society of America, and he is recognized for two Best Practice Awards from the National Council on Aging, the Distinguished Teacher Award from the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education, and the Molly Mettler Award for Leadership in Health Promotion from the National Council on Aging.

The third edition of this book, Health Promotion and Aging, was selected for the 2004 Book of the Year Award by theAmerican Journal of Nursing in two categories: Gerontologic Nursing, and Community and Public Health. Dr. Haber also authored Health Care for an Aging Society.

Dr. Haber has authored 87 academic publications and has been project director or principal investigator of 20 research or demonstration grants related to health and aging. Typically, these applied projects involved gerontology and health professional students leading community health promotion ventures with older adults. Dr. Haber’s current interest in life is cat therapy with frail elders.

This book focuses on fun! With each new page turned, you get one small glimpse of a machine in the background, or a movement by Mama from a sitting position. Every illustration captures a new adventure zooming around the neighborhood and beyond. Mama is strong, able and loving toward her son and husband. Despite her disability and use of a wheelchair, she is part of every real and imagined event. The text and illustrations depict a true and positive picture of the ways that love and commitment are the same, regardless of physical limitations that parents may have. I salute Jane Cowen-Fletcher for her excellent, accurate portrayal of this happy family. This book was written from the heart!

About the Author
Aisha Raison has proven to be one of the strong, young Womanist poets, producers and speakers of our time. Creative and outspoken, her poetry will move you and create new food for thought for the mind, body and soul. Aisha has written and recorded poetry throughout the south since 1997, creating Afrodeesiack Press and working in radio in cities such as Winston-Salem and Memphis. With her feminist image and words, she has won and toured several southern poetry slams and readings and performs in coffee shops and college stages, retelling stories that influence and inspire those that have yet to have a voice. She has recently published a book of poetry (Speaking in Cursive and Other Adventures of Little Girl Blue, Afrodeesiack Press/Createspace IPP, 2012) and has done two short documentaries, one of which was based on her experience at Southern Fried Poetry Slam in 2013 (Southern Girl, Epifani 9 Productions, 2013). She is also a motivational speaker and domestic violence advocate who occasionally works with programs such as the YWCA of Greater Memphis as well as a midday on air personality at 88.5 WQOX-FM in Memphis.

"Heroine Tracks: Essays and Poetry from a Superwoman" by Aisha Raison

My Thoughts....

I will have to say after reading the first page of this author read, I simply couldn't put 'Heroine Tracks' down. I had to stop and ask this author if this was a true read and was told that it was...simply leaving me to say I think this one is going to be a very intriguing good read...and it was!
Ms.Aisha is telling her story and leaving no corners left unturned in her story. We are given a story of just how it was starting when she received her first dairy at the age of eight and her writing starts. There will be some pitfalls where she stops but will pick it back up around thirteen having learned from a horrible incident that it wasn't wise to put it in a diary Aisha 'started writing music lyrics and poetry' where she was able to 'express and tell truths' about herself. Now, Aisha was able 'to put her emotions on paper without someone calling her out on her silliness.' This was great now Aisha had discovered that she was indeed 'Superwoman.' All seemed well and good for Aisha but there will be many pitfalls for her as wants a good man in her life. Will she be able to find one that will love her? You will find that there are twelve chapters and ten poems included in this read. My favorite chapter was Chapter seven...'An Open Apology...By An Independent Black Woman.' I loved it! The poems were wonderful...all talking about what Aisha and what she had done through...but my favorite one was number eight...'And God Created Woman.' Polymer Chemistry-An Excellent Introduction

"Polymer Chemistry: An Introduction" is an excellent text for an upper division undergraduate or graduate level course in polymer chemistry. The book is also enjoyable to read for scientists and engineers in the polymer and materials fields. The content is logically organized, there is fairly in-depth discussion of mechanisms of polymerization reactions and of the origins of stereoregularity in polymers, and the problems at the end of each chapter are more than adequate for reviewing the subject matter. Professor Stevens clearly introduces the reader to the subject of polymer chemistry, relating the physical properties of macromolecular materials to polymer orientation, microstructure, stereochemistry and chemical composition. He also provides an enormous amount of information on the history of polymers in a fashion that effectively reinforces the important concepts being described. I find myself referring to this text far more frequently than the other polymer texts on my bookshelves.

Great introduction to polymer chem...

I was not able to fit polymer chem into my schedule at University, so I bought this book after graduating. This book is extremely organized and provides a lot of examples. The first of three sections provides a great introduction with the focus on definitions and structure. This is accomplished with very little reference to reactions.
The next two sections, which are titled vinyl and nonvinyl polymers respectively, address reaction mechanisms and kinetics. This layout allowed for smooth transitions between sections and concepts were introduced and reinforced smoothly.
The other thing I liked about it, is the continuous reinforcement of nomenclature...every time a name was used a corresponding structure was on that same page.

Russian Grammar

My wife and I are learning Russian, so I bought this chart. I saw a negative review, but I read a lot of the other reviews also, thought it was worth a shot. I was not disappointed. If there are some small discrepancies, they are minor. Russian is a complex language, not sure if all the Russians understand it completely. (Americans don't always get English either). So, this laminated fold-out chart is not trying to take the place of a textbook, but it has a wealth of good solid information on it. Very sturdily made. Buy it!

When evaluating the quality of a product like this, good lamination, colorful presentation and sturdy quality are secondary to the quality of the information included in the guide. While this product deserves good marks for those secondary qualities, it doesn't do well where it really matters. Yes, almost all of the information about Russian grammar included on the guide is correct, but a resource likes this needs to be consistently accurate, and this one is not. There are small errors in the guide that make it an unreliable resource. Example: the presentation of the declensions leaves out the genitive ending for hard-stem feminine words, a major category of words. And that's only one of the mistakes that I found. How can I know that there aren't others? When reviewing grammar, I need the guide to be checking *me*, not vice-versa. There is also an error in the pronoun section where singular pronouns are incorrectly labeled as plural.

The convenience of having everything in a handy, laminated format is what made me buy two of these (one for me, and one for my wife), but don't waste your money, search for Natalia Lusin and buy anything you can get your hands on by her.

Would be great for older students

Very informative! I got this to teach my 6 year old Russian as she was in a Russian immersion school for the last three years & since we took her out we wanted to keep all the knowledge she gained & learn more. Its a bit too complex right now but I'm sure we will appreciate it as she gets older & gets into more complex material. Would be great for older students.

Sarah Marsh is the queen of Sci Fi Romance every book she brings out is more outstanding than the last I do not no how she does it but Miss Marsh is seriously talented so much so that the very opening lines too this book had me Hooked.

Sally Owens is content to spend her life away hiding in well plain sight, that is….. well as long as no one got too close too her or tries to wrestle the reigns away.

When she decides too let her hair down which takes all her courage, she ends up getting kidnapped and shipped out into outer space which was so NOT what she had in mind. If at all. But Sally is a survivor and she soon comes up with a great plan to thrive and adapt in this new world that has been thrust upon her.

Arkenon Quinn has been informed that one of the human refugees that were rescued wants to join the Courtesan Guild and well he is curious to say the least. However, when he meets the plucky firebrand who makes him wonder what beautiful Sally is all about, so what is a guy too do but mentor her even if it is against his better judgement. What he couldn't have or wouldn't have anticipated is how quickly this fascinating human would steal his very heart, Now he is pushed with a new dilemma something he’s never had to do ever...... chase a woman.

So this is book four of Coalition Mates and by far my favourite, well until the next book captures my heart :) as I said above from the first line of the book I was a goner see Miss Marsh has this poem that captured my full being and my heart, I have this poem pinned too my bedroom wall that's how much is resonated with me.

Inspire me with passion.
Blind me with longing.
Break me with need.

Bind me with Love."

Seriously this is a mighty start too an amazing book.

As the characters go Sally and Arkenon are one of the best too date I love the fiery interplay between them I adore the yin and yang the flow of how they come together.

Sally is independent yet quiet she is not the one too go out yet she comes out of her bubble for the night and well it doesn't go too plan and then some, so she is kidnapped and then rescued and on a different planet with different races.... yes it is mind boggling but rather amazing she takes it all in her stride and is rather confident about it all. she has so many qualities that I love about her and want everyone else too love as well.

Arkenon is a man and a half he has charisma and the looks too boot and the charm wowza just one look is enough too make you swoon and your panties drop too the ground. But as much as he has all this he has a complexity about him that no one but Sally can get see she crawls in too his heart little by little he never expected a tiny human too make him have so much feelings and emotions, he well is just not use too this after all look at who he is and the job he has, women come to him right??

My favourite part was the ending and yes some may seem it is weird but its where we meet these amazing three characters we see a glimpse of what there capable of and hints of the longing and the needs that they need too complete themselves, they have to have there own story " hears me begging the author"

Sarah Marsh is super talented an an author you have too read ... seriously you are missing out. Read All Her Books.

This is the 2nd book I've read from the Coalition Mates series and, I must say, Sarah didn't fail to deliver the heat on this one either. Surrender contains acts of voyeurism, exhibitionism, spanking, anal and bondage play.

Also, she has sex scenes involving m/m, m/w, m/m/w, and m/m/m/w.

Sounds kinky, right?

Just wait until you read the chapter where Sally and Ark attend Galen's get-together. Trust me folks, this is not a party where you'll find couples yawning out of boredom. No, what you'll read will have your temperature skyrocketing, legs clenching, and maybe you might even find yourself panting a little bit. ;)

Could you imagine being in the sixth grade and about to fail. You have six little brothers and sisters that you think are trying to rune your life .You fell like leaving and never coming back than you should read the book Jasmin.

This book is one of the best I've read it has a grate plot. It has many stories in it. There is one story I love the time where there where coyotes all around her she had to remember that her mom said to sing and they would go away and soon enough in just a minuet they went away. Amazon.com

This character was so real to me; you would feel like you where write there with her. Like the time in the beginning of the book when she dint have any food she dint know how to kill an animal to be abele eat that night she dint know how to start fire to warm the food up she could eat them. So she decided to walk up the hill and gather some berries while something happened along the way.

This book is one of the best I've read. All through out this book; there have been life skills; shows you stuff that maybe you have some thoughts about; like you might want to run away like what Jasmin did in the book she ran away and things happened all through she regretted what she did . This book made me think of how good of a life I have.

Someone that should read this book is a person in the fifth grade to the end of school; it is going out to them it might be help full to them because they might be in there situation!

Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion, but after reading Rosa's seriously negative review, I felt compelled to jump to this book's defence. I read it in junior high and LOVED it! I could relate to Jasmin in most aspects (as I believe many young adults could) and felt a kindred kinship with her. Anyone with imagination, creativeness and a sense of adventure will enjoy this book. I was thrilled when I found it in a second hand book store (like an old friend) and I will give it to my daughter when she is old enough to read it.

a lovely book

This book has been a favourite of mine since I first read it as a teenager. Not only is Jasmin a sensitive, emotionally evocative character, but her adventures are intriguing. While the pace can be slow at times, this is to allow the reader to experience the rhythm of life as Jasmin experiences it. I think that the one negative review on this page does a major diservice to a beloved, timeless book. Read it - buy it for your kids - or buy it for yourself!

Do not buy this!!!

Don't buy this! All the information in this book, you can get off the internet. It has really general information about what to wear and what to do before and after the interview like shake people's hands....! The most ridiculous part is that there are 4-5 pages of BLANK pages so you can write your stories in for interview. 4-5 pages of NOTHING for a 56 page book. Not to mention there is no such thing as "9 interview mock" since there are only 5 full length interviews with absolutely no guidelines on how to answer them or how they will be marked. Just a waste of money that preys on vunerable predent students. If I could give this 0 stars, I would.

I wanted a book that gives me the tools and techniques to get clear on what it takes to become an Online Business Consultant with a leaning to Social Media. I am so glad I read this book.
A quick summary of the book is that you need a social media content plan, engagement of your market plan and then a promotional strategy of how to put all of that into effective action for faster results. I like how the case studies were included as it shows that this is not just hype but real world methods to get into the social media consultancy space. The book is also very useful for people who just want to know how social media works and what tools are needed to make it work effectively.

I thought the video marketing segment was extremely helpful as I am in the process of creating my own video online courses. Tools such as Animoto for high quality slideshows and We Video editing software for YouTube has given me fast short cuts to create professional content over Social Media.

Also, great tips on finding the right kind of equipment for video creation, finding new clients as well as outsourcing strategies for when your business grows. I would like to know more about Google Plus Hangouts as it seems to be talked about quite a bit these days and I guess that could be feedback for the authors next book. Great read and well worth the investment.

Learn from the best!

I've known Lasse (the author) for years in the internet marketing field and he not only knows his stuff but he relishes in teaching others. His new Smart Social Media book shows even the lay person how to create a fabulous income for him or herself by becoming a social media expert.

Since Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Youtube aren't going anywhere really fast, in this day and age where people are struggling for work, anyone with a computer can learn how to put what's in this book to use and make a great living! I never cease to be amazed by what I learn from Lasse!

The book is a powerful tool for people who want to know how social media works and make money with it.

Business is about strategy and experience; you will find this and more in Lasse's book. He shares not only his knowledge but also his passion. Its a great book, thanks Lasse!
